Frequently Asked Questions

If you need any more information, don't hesitate to get in touch.

What should we wear to our Forest Adventure?

Little Foxes sessions take part entirely outside and in all weathers. We believe that this can create some amazing memories for you and your child, however would always recommend you to come prepared!

Wearing warm, waterproof clothing will make your child and you feel comfortable and will ensure that you get the most from your sessions. We always recommend covering arms and legs to stop bites, scratches and stings, and to wear sturdy, waterproof shoes. It is better to have on too many layers and need to take them off than not having enough and getting cold!

If you need any more detailed recommendations, just ask and we will do our best to help.

Where do sessions take place?

We use Lamberhurst Common land for most of our sessions- upon booking you will receive detailed information on how to find us. Lamberhurst is on the Kent/ East Sussex border and is easily accessible from the A21. For parties and other events, we can come to you if you have a suitable area.

Will there be facilities at the site?

At our usual Forest Adventures site there are no public amenities. There are public toilets a short drive away that we recommend you use beforehand.

We do not have running water, so recommend you bring flannels and a bottle of water/ wet wipes to clean muddy hands before going home!

What is the maximum number of children/ families you have on a session at once?

A key element of Forest School is that group sizes are kept small to give the participants the best possible experience, enabling them to build up good relationships with the leaders and other participants.

Our groups vary based on the age of the participants and whether children are accompanied by parents or not, but we will always keep group sizes small.

Feel free to contact us if you have any queries regarding group sizing.

Can you provide food that suits my child's dietary requirements?

During some of our sessions we provide snacks for the participants. If you let us know any dietary requirements beforehand, we will try our best to find something suitable for everyone. Of course, if you would rather you are more than welcome to bring your own food/ drink.

What happens if someone gets hurt during a session?

There will always be a first aid kit on site as well as at least one member of staff present who is first aid trained and can help with any minor injuries sustained. In the unlikely event that a more serious incident occurs, we have detailed emergency plans to help us deal with it quickly.

How do I book?

Contact us for dates of upcoming sessions and we can get you booked in. If we do not have space or are not currently running the session you would like to attend, we will add you to the waiting list and let you know as soon as a place becomes available.

Are there other things to do in and around Lamberhurst?

Yes! If you want to turn your Forest Adventure in to a whole day of adventures there are plenty of opportunities. There are lovely places to eat in Lamberhurst, from Teise & Coffee cafe, to the wide range of pubs- you certainly won't go hungry. There are also a couple of shops in the village to pick up everyday essentials as well as local produce from The Little Green Pantry. You can pop to the village playground or have a nice walk around the vineyard, and don't forget a visit to Scotney Castle, the National Trust property on our doorstep. Bewl Water and Bedgebury Pinetum are also both a short distance away.

What do we need to know regarding Covid-19?

Our sessions take place outside with small groups of participants, meaning there is lots of fresh air and space to spread out.

Jenny has undertaken training on Infection Prevention, Control and Risk Assessment as part of Kent County Council's strategy to keep people safe. We have a risk assessment in place regarding Covid-19 and will follow any relevant government guidance.

Don't hesitate to speak to us if you have any concerns or questions.
